3 Simple Cacao Recipes for Everyday Rituals
Share
Cacao can be a quiet morning pause, an afternoon pick-me-up or a little something waiting in the fridge for tomorrow. These three simple cacao recipes use familiar ingredients and leave room to make each one your own.
1. Warming cinnamon ceremonial cacao
Makes: 1 cup
You’ll need: 10–20 g Ceremonial Cacao, 2 tablespoons warm water, 150 ml hot water or plant milk (60–70°C), a pinch of cinnamon, and optional natural sweetener.
- Mix the cacao with 2 tablespoons of warm water until it forms a smooth paste.
- Pour in the hot water or plant milk. Keep the liquid warm, not boiling.
- Add cinnamon and, if you like, a little sweetener. Whisk, froth or blend until velvety.
Start with 10 g for a gentle cup or use 20 g for a more intense cacao flavour. Settle in and enjoy it slowly.
2. Frothy iced drinking cacao
Makes: 1 glass
You’ll need: 20 g Artisan Drinking Cacao, 2 tablespoons warm water, 150 ml cold milk of your choice, and ice.
- Stir the cacao blend with the warm water to make a paste.
- Add the paste, cold milk and a handful of ice to a blender.
- Blend until smooth and frothy, then pour into a glass.
Artisan Drinking Cacao already contains organic panela and vanilla, so taste your drink before adding anything sweet.
3. Overnight cacao oats
Makes: 1 breakfast bowl
You’ll need: 10 g finely grated Ceremonial Cacao, 2 tablespoons warm water, ½ cup rolled oats, ½ cup plant milk, 1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional), and sliced banana or berries to serve.
- Stir the cacao with the warm water until smooth.
- Mix the cacao paste with the oats, plant milk and optional maple syrup in a jar or bowl.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight. Stir in a splash more milk in the morning if you prefer a softer texture, then add fruit.
For a sweeter oat bowl without adding syrup, try the same recipe with 20 g of Artisan Drinking Cacao in place of the pure cacao.
Choose the recipe that fits your day. The ritual can be as simple as giving yourself a moment to enjoy it.
